Application Process

We pride ourselves on recruiting and training high quality and talented employees. We encourage applications from both final year degree students and those who may be further along in their studies who can demonstrate a genuine interest in joining EHL
We attract talent from across the country are able to provide training contracts in our East Midlands offices though travel to other locations may be required
We receive a large number of Training Contract applications every year and a lot of time and effort is spent carefully reviewing and assessing the applications against our agreed criteria.

What we look for in a high quality application:

  • Academic Ability

    In order to demonstrate a strong academic ability you will need to have attained (or be expected to attain):
    Three or more A2 Level, A Level or equivalent passes (A-C)
     Either a law degree with a 2.1 classification or above or a degree in another academic subject with a 2.1 classification or above, plus successful completion of the GDL
    An LPC Pass or above or be part way through an LPC which is due to complete during 2017

  • Personal Characteristics

    In addition to being able to academic ability we look for applicants who are able to demonstrate the below characteristics

  • 2016 Process

    We will hold an assessment centre for shortlisted candidates during November 2016; this will put candidates through a range of activities including presentations and group tasks
    Final interview’s and presentations will be taking place during December 2016
    Successful candidates will start in January 2017

Vacation schemes

We will be running a 2-4 week vacation scheme every August for students, graduates, mature candidates and those with a keen interest in the legal field.

You will have the opportunity to socialise with our current trainees, qualified solicitors and paralegal staff and pick their brains for advice as they understand the challenges you’ll face in your pursuit of a legal career
